Meet Ziggy — a truly unique soul who’s looking for the right person to help him start fresh. Ziggy is believed to be a Pit Bull mix, around 4 years old, and he came to the shelter severely underweight. We are working on helping him reach a healthy weight, but he would truly thrive much more quickly and comfortably in a home environment where he can receive consistent care and attention. It’s clear Ziggy hasn’t had much structure, training, or stability in his past. Because of that, he can be destructive and curious — he’ll get into whatever he can find, including garbage cans, and may try to eat things that aren’t food. He also has a hard time staying entertained for long, which means he’ll need an adopter who understands enrichment, supervision, and management while he learns better habits. Despite his challenges, Ziggy is very sweet with people and enjoys human interaction. With patience, clear boundaries, and plenty of mental and physical outlets, he has the potential to make real progress. Ziggy is not an “easy” dog, but for the right home — one that’s committed to helping him learn and feel secure — he could be incredibly rewarding.
