Ziggy stands out as a truly unique soul in search of just the right person willing to help him turn the page. He’s a medium-sized Pit Bull mix, about 4 and a half years old, who arrived at the shelter severely underweight. Shelter life can only do so much—what Ziggy really needs is a home where he can put on some healthy weight and settle into steadier routines. In his past, Ziggy didn’t get much structure or training, so he’s still learning about boundaries and manners. He’s curious and often gets into things he shouldn’t, including garbage, and sometimes tries to eat things that aren’t meant for dogs. Ziggy gets bored quickly, making enrichment, supervision, and management a must while he figures things out. This dog is sweet with people and brightens up around human companionship. He’ll do best with someone patient who can offer clear, consistent boundaries and plenty of outlets for his mind and energy. Ziggy isn’t an “easy” project; he needs a committed adopter ready to help him become the dog he’s meant to be. He’s worth the effort for someone who values the journey. Ziggy gets along with children and would benefit from an adopter who understands his need for guidance and growth.
