About Jiggy

Jiggy was a victim of her owner being evicted here in NYC and was surrendered along with her housemates to the New York Animal Care Centers, Shelter life was overwhelming for her. On intake she was extremely fearful (thrashing/rolling, lunging) and, since then, she's tended to stay shut down and avoidant. With slow movement and space, Jiggy has begun to tolerate gentle leashing, accept light pets, and take treats softly. Her time was up and there was no more room. A temporary foster stepped in to save her then didn't want to foster any longer. However we knew that if this girl perfected her skills, she'd be very adoptable. So we sent her off to one of the best trainers we knew and she adapted in no time, She is now ready for her forever home. These are her STATS: Name: Jiggy Age: 2 Weight: 36-40 lbs Good with: Dogs: Yes Cats: Dog savvy cats Kids: Older kids Meet Jiggy! This sweet ball of fun is ready for her next adventure. Jiggy has been working through some insecurities with one of our behavioral trainers, and is looking for a forever or foster family take her to the next level. Jiggy LOVES food and training for food. She also loves attention when she’s comfortable with you. Once she accepts you, you’re in her circle for life! She’s a wiggly and bouncy girl who will love you unconditionally and make sure you know it when you provide her with a safe home. It takes her a little bit to warm up to new people and places, but treats certainly speed up the process! Jiggy has been making new dog friends at camp too! She has a typical pittie play style and would love a buddy who can match that and wrestle with her. She’s also happy to wander around and sniff in a fenced yard. Out in the world, she’s learning that dogs and people aren’t out to get her. This fun girl knows her basic obedience commands and is crate trained. She happily and quietly chews on a bone in her crate. She would do best with someone who is home more often, or a dog walker for a midday potty break. Jiggy has also been conditioned to a muzzle and remote collar. Jiggy has been exposed to young babies and older children and while seemingly unfazed by both, older children would be best suited for her. She has also been exposed to dog savvy cats and has been nothing but respectful! Please consider giving Jiggy a home to call her own!
