About Chicken

Chicken is a curious and exuberant kitten who can't wait to fill your home with joy. Heโ€™s approximately 9 months old (as of 1/2026) and heโ€™s full of energy and loves to play! He was a very shy kitten at the start of his time with us at Catcalls but with time, patience and love he has come around wonderfully and is ready to find his forever home! He loves chasing toys around the house and playing with other cats. He would enjoy a home where he can continue to learn and grow through play and having a playful cat friend in his new home will be a must! Chicken hasn't spent much time around dogs so we can't speak to how well he would do there. With slow, proper introductions of course itโ€™s always possible he could be ok with a canine companion but we canโ€™t say for sure! As far as toys go, he loves a ball toy but especially one stuffed mouse toy. His foster dad has found it all over the apartment and he loves running around with it! Heโ€™s a man who loves to hunt his toy mice! Chicken loves to snuggle with other kitties- although the resident cat in his foster home merely tolerates this behavior. We would hope Chicken can go to a new home with a cat that likes to cuddle so he can snuggle up with them too! Chicken is a sucker for window seat! He absolutely loves sitting by the window in the morning, watching the sun rise. This is actually the time of day that his foster dad was able to socialize him and connect with him the most. He would let his guard down without his flight instinct taking over consistently. He would let him pet him and eventually pick him up and they made a lot of progress in the mornings that way. Chicken can be a bit shy when meeting new people. But he warms up and becomes a sweet, engaging companion who will seek out affection from those he feels comfortable with. Taking this time for him after adoption will be essential, but incredibly rewarding once he's cozy. Giving him the time he needs to feel comfortable will be so worth it in the long run! Chicken would do best in a home that understands kittens need time to settle in and is ready to give him the love and consistency he needs to thrive. In return, heโ€™ll bring joy, activity, and companionship to his future family. Chicken is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and is FIV/FeLV negative. *To apply for Chicken (if you have a young and playful cat at home!) please visit our website to view our adoption guidelines and fill out our application at catcallsrescue.org/adopt *
