Jay is your typical rambunctious kitten and he is 7 months old. He can be a little shy at first, but loves to play and shows his true personality once he feels comfortable. He is silly, curious, and so much fun. He really loves to play and will often bat around his toys or try to wrestle. However, he also loves to snuggle with Raven and rub against her. Jay's biological mom came down with FIP. FIP is not contagious, but current research suggests there could be a genetic component, so there is a possibility he could develop the disease. He could also never develop FIP - we just don't know. We are encouraged by the fact that he's healthy, symptom-free, and his 3 already adopted siblings have not gotten FIP. Unfortunately there is no test that will give us the answer. It is most common in kittens and cats under 2 years old. There is a treatment available with a high success rate. Staff are happy to discuss FIP more with any potential adopters. Jay is bonded to Raven, a 1-2 year old kitty who looks like his twin. They should be adopted together.
