About Joy
Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now! Meet Joy, a radiant and spirited 8-month-old yellow Lab mix who might have a touch of German Shepherd Dog in her lineage. Joy truly lives up to her name by lighting up any room with her enthusiasm and big-hearted affection. With her lovely, thick, wavy coat and expressive eyes, she's sure to turn heads wherever she goes. Joy’s early days were challenging; she arrived at AHeinz after being transported from an Oklahoma shelter, escaping harsh winter conditions. Now in safe hands, she is blossoming and eager to embark on her next adventure. About 45 pounds and likely nearly full grown, Joy brings lively energy and boundless love to every interaction. She adores people and soaks up attention, occasionally getting a bit carried away with exuberant jumps. Because of her youthful enthusiasm, she will do best in a home without small children, where her energy can be appreciated without worry. Friendly and sociable, Joy enjoys the company of both people and other dogs—especially those that can keep up with her playful spirit. She thrives with larger dogs and would do best in a home without cats or very small dogs. Joy is not mouthy or barky, sleeps soundly through the night in a puppy pen, and has shown early signs of picking up on house training. Leash manners and basic training are still works in progress, so her adopter should be ready to guide her as she learns. With structure, patience, and plenty of love, Joy will grow into an amazing companion. She’s spayed and will be fully vaccinated before adoption. If you’re searching for a warm-hearted, lively friend who will fill your days with happiness, Joy is waiting for you! Think you are the one? Submit an application!
