Trigger is a young, small, white and cream mixed poodle and schnauzer with a short coat. He is a neutered male who is house trained and fully vaccinated. Trigger is currently enjoying foster care through H.A.L.T. (Helping Animals Live Tomorrow), and will need regular grooming to keep his coat looking and feeling great.

He was discovered on a freezing December night, soaking wet and severely neglected, with an overgrown, matted coat. Desperately trying to find companionship, Trigger attempted to join a group of homeless men who couldn't take him in. Thankfully, intervention brought him to safety, saving him from the dangers of the street. His ordeal spoke volumes about a past filled with neglect, but also opened the door to an inspiring new beginning. Once his stray hold was complete, Trigger's first stop was the groomer, where he was finally able to shed the heavy matting and rediscover the world with bright eyes and a wagging tail. With gentle care, his true personality began to shine—every day with foster care has helped him learn how to sleep in a crate, use the outdoors for bathroom breaks, walk on a leash, and even enjoy car rides. He's quickly learning to sit for treats and is developing into a playful, lively companion. With abundant energy and a strong desire for play, Trigger will thrive in a home with another spirited dog. Due to his youth and enthusiasm (he’s about a year old), homes without toddlers are recommended. He's shown no reaction to cats and appears cat-friendly. As a fluffy, white mixed poodle and schnauzer, regular grooming is a must, but Trigger is now fully vetted and in vibrant health—an amazing turnaround considering his humble beginnings.
