Meet Oreo, the most delightful little treat you’ll ever meet! This 6-month-old puppy is like a favorite dessert— nothing but pure sweetness. Don't let his sometimes serious face fool you- Oreo is soft in every way, from his gentle, easygoing personality to his silky-smooth coat. He has the most beautiful eyes and is incredibly calm and well behaved for his age! Oreo is more than happy to soak up all the affection you can give and is great with new people, regardless of age. He does wonderfully with children! Oreo has been fostered with kids ranging from 2 to 13 years old. He’s naturally gentle with the little ones—he doesn’t jump, takes treats politely, and happily shares his toys. His calm, friendly demeanor makes him a great fit for a family home! Oreo also gets along great with other dogs! He is easy to introduce to new pups and takes correction from other dogs well. He has been fostered with dogs of varying size and age and was a friend to all. Oreo would be happy to either join a family with a canine sibling or be the center of attention as an only pup. Despite his age, he is smart and is working towards learning his basic commands! He is kennel trained, potty trained, and knows 'sit.' He is treat motivated and easy to teach! The adoption process consists of an application, reference checks, phone interview, and video chat with the pet and foster parent! The adoption fee of $700 includes spay/neuter, vaccines (rabies, DHPP and booster, and Bordatella), microchip with free lifetime registration, deworming, transport, heartworm test, heartworm and flea prevention during the pet's time in our program as well as 2 free months of heartworm and flea prevention to be sent in their adoption packet! We are volunteers with a passion to reduce the stray population and unnecessary euthanasia in South Texas. According to Shelter Animals Count, an almost 100,000 cats and dogs were euthanized in Texas shelters in 2024. By transporting our adoptable pets to areas with fewer unwanted pets, they have a better chance of quickly finding loving homes, while also freeing up space in Texas shelters and giving more local animals a chance at life.
