About Ava
Ava is a standout. This girl is spayed and microchipped, so you know she’s ready to settle right into a new home. Her favorite thing in the world is water—whether it’s romping in a kiddie pool, charging through a splash pad, or chasing the hose, Ava can’t get enough. She’s happiest when she’s wet and out playing, the sort of dog that turns every day into a pool party. Ava has had quite a journey. She’s undergone surgery to remove a kidney because of a birth defect, but it hasn’t slowed her down or dimmed her attitude. She wears doggie diapers for some urinary leaking, which gives her a unique look and just adds to her charm. She’ll need ongoing vet care (including bloodwork), a prescription renal diet, and seizure medication, but her seizures have been very well managed lately. Ava’s resilience shows in her playful, upbeat attitude. She loves people of all ages and gets along with both kids and other dogs. Ava needs someone willing to keep up with her extra health requirements, but she brings so much joy and goofiness to the table—it’s hard not to smile around her. With the Sun in Aquarius (born January 23), don’t be surprised if her unconventional spirit keeps you on your toes. They are waiting with paws crossed! Apply now!
