About Cowboy
Meet Cowboy, a 6-year-old American Bully who's ready to find his forever home. Cowboy is truly a gentle soul. He gets along wonderfully with every human and dog he meets and has a laid-back, easygoing personality. His favorite things in the world are snuggling with his people and spending his days lounging on a cozy couch or dog bed. Cowboy hasn't had the easiest start in life. He was found as a heartworm-positive stray and needed time to regain his health before beginning treatment. Some of the medications caused weight gain, so once he is cleared for regular activity (approximately 6–9 months post-treatment), slowly shedding a few extra pounds will be beneficial for him. We believe Cowboy may not have lived in a home prior to rescue and needed extra support with potty training. With consistency and a routine, he has made great progress, but he will need a patient family willing to continue reinforcing his training and helping him adjust to a new schedule. He will use pee pads when they are available. Cowboy would thrive in a home with minimal stairs and a fenced yard, as he can be hesitant on leash walks. A household where someone is usually home during the day would be ideal to support his ongoing potty training. While he's not a fan of getting into the car, he settles in nicely and rides well once inside. Due to the unique needs of bulldog-type breeds, preference will be given to families with experience caring for brachycephalic dogs. Cowboy's foster family has absolutely loved having him as part of their pack, and they can't wait for him to find the patient, loving home he so deserves The adoption fee is $390.00. All animals are up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, and spayed/neutered. Due to the number of inquiries received from PetFinder and sites alike, we do not have the capacity to reply to them.
