About Tux

Meet Tux (also known as Tuxalily or Mr. Lily), a resilient and soulful cat who’s finally ready for the peaceful home he’s always deserved. Tux spent years surviving outdoors, cleverly avoiding capture for more than 18 months before showing his gentle side to the volunteer that cared for his colony. When he turned up injured, he finally got his chance at indoor life, and he’s since healed beautifully. Now neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and parasite-treated, Tux has been enjoying the comforts of indoor living. He’s learned to love wet food, gentle pets, playtime, and stretches of lounging on the couch in the company of his people. A quiet, calm setting is important for Tux. He’s happiest away from loud environments, small children, and especially dogs, which he does not tolerate. In stressful moments he can get overstimulated and may hiss or swat, so he needs adopters able to give him space and read his cues. Tux does best on high-quality food for sensitive stomachs, and although he is FIV+, this doesn’t dampen his spirit. He gets along well with other friendly cats and would thrive with a feline companion. He’s a survivor with a big heart, waiting for someone who can give him a sense of safety and belonging.
