About Lucyin North Carolina
Lucy was surrendered to the rescue when her previous owners couldn't meet her needs, and her first days revealed just how much she'd been neglected. Severely matted, nearly unable to walk, and overwhelmed by fleas, she underwent a marathon grooming session and desperately needed vet care. Now, after multiple baths, treatment for ear infections and callouses, and plenty of nutritious meals, Lucy is making the most of her new-found freedom. At just 2-3 years old, Lucy has a zest for life. She is lively, affectionate, and finally able to bound through the yard like she always wanted. She absolutely loves playing with other dogs and is also gentle and happy around the household cat. Lucy is still learning her manners—she has a big appetite, plays rambunctiously, and can be mouthy when excited, but her foster has already seen great progress. With regular meals, she’s figuring out that food is always coming. Lucy enjoys sleeping beside her foster’s bed, prefers open crates for napping, and responds well to a leash, though curiosity sometimes gets the best of her and she’ll pull to check out her surroundings. She thrives in an active environment and will need a home that has time for play, preferably with a fenced yard and some furry companions. Lucy is house trained, spayed, microchipped, and up to date on all vaccines. She is not suited to being crated for long days and, due to her energy, is best for families without young children or with kids respectful of animals. Lucy is fostered in Lenoir, NC, and her adopter must be willing to pick her up there. Give them the home they have been waiting for. Apply today.
