Teddy is a friendly, devoted companion who enjoys hanging out with his human and dog friends. He loves visitors and kids! At around seven years old, he has energy to run around the yard and is equally content to relax and spend time with people around the house. He enjoys going for walks and will occasionally get the zoomies on leash. Although he's a big dog, he's not looking to make trouble and will settle down when asked. He may pause and watch other dogs or people as they approach, but he is not reactive. Teddy enjoys spending time in a fenced yard. Occasionally he will bark-not aggressively, but more as an announcement, likely channeling his Great Pyrenees livestock-guarding instincts. Teddy is becoming reliably house-trained and does need to go out every few hours to pee during the day. Overnight, he reliably sleeps for about eight hours. A tall guy, he may sniff to see what's on a table or counter, but he responds well to redirection and will leave things alone when told. Teddy came to IAR from a local shelter, where he'd been picked up as a stray. He's neutered, microchipped, heartworm negative, and current on vaccines and preventatives. Teddy is ready for a person or family to welcome him and give him the chance to show his devotion.
