About Wolfie > Bleeding Heart

Wolfie is a one-year-old husky mix with striking coyote-like looks and a spirited personality. Athletic and high energy, he thrives on adventure and activity—think long walks, hikes, and plenty of time to explore. Wolfie delights in the company of people and children, showing no reactivity to cats and getting along well with other dogs. Despite never living in a home before, he’s surprisingly attuned to communication, sits on command, and picks up on cues quickly. His affectionate side shines; Wolfie laps up kisses and hugs, and enjoys snuggling like a gentle giant. He’s independent, but not aloof—he’ll make you laugh one minute and quietly enjoy a treat from your hand the next. Treats are a favorite, but he’s just as motivated by walks and attention. He keeps his kennel clean, and while he isn’t house trained yet, he adapts well and just needs patient guidance introducing him to life indoors. On leash, Wolfie’s initial excitement fades as he settles and follows your lead. Car rides are easy, storms or separation don’t faze him, and his food drive is strong but manageable. He would do well with an active family or individuals who love to get outside and include a loyal, playful companion in their adventures. Wolfie is part of the Bleeding Heart Society—dogs overlooked and stuck in limbo despite having no behavioral or health issues. If you’re looking for a dog eager to connect and share life’s adventures, Wolfie is ready for his chapter to begin. They are waiting with paws crossed! Apply now!
