About Vecna

Start your journey together! Apply now. Meet Vecna! Unlike the intimidating villain from Stranger Things, Vecna is actually a sweet, friendly, and affectionate cat who loves to chat and ask for pets—just enough, though, as he can get a bit overstimulated at times. This striking orange tabby has gorgeous golden eyes, a feature the volunteers at the shelter can’t stop talking about. Vecna does have one thing in common with his namesake: he’s faced some tough odds. He is FIV-positive, meaning his immune system is a bit more sensitive than other cats. This condition is especially common among former strays, but with proper indoor care, FIV+ cats like Vecna can enjoy long, healthy lives—sometimes never catching so much as a cold! If he does get sick, he may just need a little extra time to recover. FIV spreads only by deep, serious bite wounds between cats, so Vecna should be the only cat in your household. People and other animals cannot contract FIV from him, so there’s no worry there. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who will turn your world 'upside down' in the best way possible, Vecna is eager to meet you! He’s waiting at Friends of Parkville Animal Shelter for his perfect new family. Make their next chapter their best one yet.
