About Dexter
Meet Dexter, a sweet soul currently in foster care. At about 9 months old, heβs a medium-sized bundle of heart, likely a mix of Jack Russell and Staffordshire Terrier. When he first arrived at the shelter, he trembled in his kennel, clearly scared and unsure of the world around him. It was impossible to walk past him without bringing him home. Dexter is timid, especially around strangers, but has shown remarkable progress in the comfort of a loving environment. Heβs fully potty trained, alerting his caregivers when it's time to go outside. Once he feels safe, Dexter becomes playful and affectionate, eagerly engaging in roughhousing with other pets. His gentleness shines, even when faced with rambunctious playmates. Dexter exhibits no aggression; he's calm and patient, even in more chaotic situations. Though he has experienced some hair loss from a flea allergy and stress, it's already improving with care. Heβs crate trained, knows "sit," and follows cues to go to his designated space. While he may carry some caution, the strides he has made show heβs ready for a loving forever home.
