Katana
AvailableKatana is a Cane Corso living in Portland, OR. She’s an adult female and is spayed, as well as up to date on her vaccinations. Katana is extra-large and fits the classic Cane Corso look. She has been kennel and potty trained but is not fully house trained. No cats or children are recommended; an adopter with guardian breed experience is best for her.
About Katana
Katana is a striking 7–8-year-old Cane Corso, once used for backyard breeding, now finally living safe and loved at the sanctuary. She’s earned a special place with the founder, Lee Asher, known for her affection, gentle spirit, and calm nature. Katana’s strongest desire is to be close—she lives for cuddling and relaxed snuggle sessions yet still enjoys outdoor adventures. Long walks and hikes are on her list, and she’s happy to join pack walks with other dogs. Social in group settings, Katana gets along with most big and small dogs, but she has a steadfast dislike for Boxers. This is a loyal, protective breed: devotion runs deep, and her adopter must honor both her guarding instincts and need for strong connection. Katana hasn’t shown aggression, but her natural protectiveness is not for just anyone. She always needs to be leashed outside. Her body carries the marks of a rough past, possibly even abuse or being used as a bait dog, with scars and gray patches of fur. Yet, she’s resilient and radiates warmth instead of wariness. She’s kennel and potty trained, knows basic commands, and thrives in calm, present company. Her ideal adopter has meaningful experience with Cane Corsos or similar guardian breeds, no cats or children in the home. Katana is ready for peace—no more jobs, only love and safety. Her next chapter deserves to be as gentle as she is. Make her golden years shine. What are you waiting for? Apply today!
