About Kimo

Lets make it official, apply to adopt! Meet Kimo – the nervous Chihuahua with a heart of gold! If you have a soft spot for underdogs and a patient heart, Kimo might be just what you’re searching for. This one-year-old, ten-pound Chihuahua mix made his way from Texas and is now learning how to be a dog in his Wisconsin foster home. Though he’s small in stature, he’s full of nervous energy and love. Kimo is naturally timid around new people and environments. Sudden noises and unfamiliar faces startle him, and he finds comfort in quiet evenings and predictable routines. But when he feels secure, his true personality shines—he becomes playful, curious, and enjoys romping with other dogs. He loves to chase toys, tear up paper, and snuggle for naps under a pile of blankets. He’s not clingy, just quietly loyal and happiest when near both people and other dogs. Kimo is house-trained, kennel-trained, and knows a few basic commands like “stay” and “settle.” He gains confidence from his canine companions, so a calm, friendly, and steady dog in his future home is essential (rather than another anxious pup). Kimo gets along well with cats, isn’t possessive with food or toys, and is always a gentleman. He’s still unsure about leashes and walks, so a secure, fenced yard is a must for him to feel safe. While car rides make him nervous, he handles them well. Kimo always chooses flight over fight and has never shown aggression, even though his “resting worried face” is ever-present. Kimo is a diamond in the rough who needs a patient, loving family and a steady dog sibling. He might not ever be the life of the party, but he will certainly be the most loyal and devoted snuggle buddy you could wish for. If you’re ready to offer understanding, time, and lots of love, Kimo is ready to give you his whole heart. What are you waiting for? Apply today!
