About Sandy The Great Pumpkin
What are you waiting for? Apply today! Sandy the Great Pumpkin lives up to his name in both size and presence. Though he might appear imposing, Sandy is actually a gentle and sensitive soul who has experienced his share of upheaval. After arriving from an inner city shelter when his previous owners could no longer care for him, Sandy was initially overwhelmed by the change but is slowly learning to trust and explore his new surroundings. He is easily startled by new people, places, and loud sounds, and is cautious around sudden movements, kittens, and even vacuum cleaners. However, with time, patience, and treats, Sandy warms up and will lovingly accept ear, neck, and chin scratches. He much prefers a low-key environment and does best as the only pet, though he can tolerate calm, older cats or dogs willing to leave him be. Young children, with their noise and unpredictable energy, are a bit too much for him. At around 10 years old and weighing 18 pounds, Sandy is healthy aside from some crumpled ear cartilage, the result of past untreated ear infections that have since been resolved. He is FeLV/FIV negative, neutered, and fully vaccinated, with his adoption including fecal testing and treatment, a microchip, Feline Bartonella testing, and 30 days of free pet insurance. When you earn Sandy's trust, the bond is truly special and deeply rewarding. He's ready to find a new, patient, and loving family who will provide the steady, peaceful home he deserves.
