About Sandy The Great Pumpkin
Sandy the Great Pumpkin comes with a name as big as his personality—and his size. Don’t let his impressive build fool you; this senior orange tabby has a sensitive streak that runs deep. Sandy lost his home when his previous owners could no longer take care of him, and he’s still adjusting to so many changes. Most new things—strangers, bustling places, sudden noises, and especially vacuum cleaners—can overwhelm him. Fast movements and surprises, including children, make him nervous. Earning Sandy’s trust takes time and patience, but when he warms up, he soaks up neck and chin scratches. He’s also highly food motivated (treats work wonders). Sandy isn’t looking for a busy or chaotic household. He’d do best as the only pet, or perhaps living with a calm older animal who gives him space. If you have a quiet home and a gentle approach, he’ll reward you with loyalty that feels hard-won and deeply meaningful. Sandy is around 10 years old and weighs a sturdy 18lb. His crumpled ears—caused by untreated infections in the past—give him character and are now just a visual quirk; he’s healthy, neutered, up to date on his vaccines, and ready for a fresh start. You’ll get plenty of peace of mind with his adoption, which includes his microchip, negative FeLV/FIV panel, Bartonella test, fecal testing and treatment, and a free month of pet insurance. Every bit of progress Sandy makes is a small victory, and he needs someone willing to walk at his pace. Click apply to start the adoption process.
