About Coral

Coral is a shy, soft-hearted cat learning to trust the world around her once again. After being surrendered to the shelter in the summer of 2025, she joined the Fraidy Cat/Feline Right at Home program. Here, frightened cats receive the extra time and space they need to feel secure. Since moving into foster care that September, Coral has made steady, heartwarming progress, shifting from hiding under the bed to exploring rooms, peering out from windows, and even brushing lightly against her foster humans when feeling brave. While she’s not ready for pets yet, Coral will delicately take treats from your fingers if you approach her slowly and gently. She's curious about other cats and previously lived with a sister, but she tends to feel overwhelmed by very active or assertive companions. A calm feline friend could provide her some comfort, but dogs are too stressful for her. Currently, Coral is on a prescription diet for stomach issues related to hairballs, and she’s responding well. As she continues to build trust and eventually accepts brushing, her condition should improve even more. Coral needs a quiet home with a patient person who understands that love can grow slowly and beautifully. With the right human by her side, she'll have the chance to become a devoted companion.
