About Kona
Kona is a bright, energetic young dog who’s always up for an adventure. At just over a year old, she loves spending time outdoors, exploring, and making friends—both canine and human. Her foster family adores her, and she’s picked up plenty from her foster brother Hank, as well as her friend Masie, who races her through the park and on hiking trips. If there’s something happening around the house, Kona is in the middle of it, especially when foster mom is busy in the kitchen. She’s curious, eager, and a quick learner, though the excitement of the world sometimes gets her pulling on the leash. She’s house trained, does well in her crate, and rides in the car without trouble. Kona is a shepherd, pit, and heeler mix weighing around 50 lbs, with a medium coat that suits her active lifestyle. She needs a home that can give her room to run, play, and burn off her puppy energy, ideally with another active dog as a companion. She’ll thrive in a family that’s patient and invested in continuing her training, especially around leash manners and channeling her playful energy. She doesn’t get along with cats, so a feline-free home is best. With her loving, friendly nature and readiness for a new adventure, she’s eager to meet a forever family.
