About Roy
What are you waiting for? Apply today! Meet Roy, a sweet senior fellow of about 9 years and 46 lbs with a hopeful spirit and a gentle soul. After a tough stint at animal control, he’s found safety and is thriving at Mostly Mutts. Roy is loving, eager for affection, and ready for his next chapter with a family who will cherish him. Earlier neglect left him with thin fur, skin concerns, dental issues, and sensitive ears and eyes, but with excellent care (including a grant that funded important bloodwork and medical attention), he’s feeling and looking brighter each day—plus he’s a star for spa day showers! Roy is friendly, calm, and appreciates a quiet, loving routine with plush toys, delicious treats, and scratches from kind hands. He’s playful yet mellow, listens beautifully, and responds well to guidance. He’s already mastered several commands and is reliable in his crate and with his potty manners on a schedule. When meeting other dogs, Roy shows curiosity and potential for companionship, and he may do well if matched with the right calm canine friend after a meet-and-greet. He hasn’t met children or cats yet, so careful, respectful introductions will work best, and he’d be happiest in a home without very young kids due to his sensitive ears. Roy’s medical routine now includes daily Cyclosporine eye drops (his trainer can share helpful tricks for these), regular medicated baths, and an allergy medication to keep him comfortable. He’s neutered, microchipped, up to date on vaccinations, and has had a dental cleaning. His shelter will cover continued ear treatment if needed. Roy hopes for someone who understands the needs of a senior dog and is committed to maintaining his comfort and happiness. He can’t wait to settle into a loving home and begin this wonderful new chapter with you. Lets make it official, apply to adopt!

Questions about Roy
What type of living environment is this breed usually best suited for?
Bulldog/Shar-Pei mixes generally thrive in homes where they receive plenty of companionship and a calm, consistent routine. They adapt well to both houses and apartments as long as their social and exercise needs are met.
How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?
This breed does well with moderate outdoor space and appreciates daily walks and time to explore. A secure yard is a bonus, but regular leash walks and supervised play can also fulfill their exercise requirements.
Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?
Bulldog/Shar-Pei mixes can be gentle and affectionate with children, especially if they are well socialized from a young age. Supervision and respectful handling are important, particularly because Shar-Peis can have sensitive skin and ears.
