About Roy
Roy is a 9-year-old, medium-sized Bulldog/Shar-Pei mix who landed at Mostly Mutts after years of neglect. Despite a rough start—thin fur, skin problems, sore eyes, and recurring ear infections—he’s bounced back well and has become a favorite among the volunteers. Roy has a gentle, friendly demeanor and remains playful, smart, and eager to please. He listens well, shows great manners, and particularly appreciates kind words and gentle guidance. Harsh corrections or restraint make him nervous, so he needs a family that favors positive reinforcement. He’s house trained, has mastered several basic commands, and enjoys proper door etiquette and walking on a leash. Roy appreciates tough toys, treats, and scratches—soft toys don’t last long with him. His energy varies; you’ll catch playful spurts between calm stretches. He likes mellow dog friends, but cats and very young kids are an unknown, and it’s best to avoid homes with toddlers given his sensitive ears. Medical upkeep includes regular medicated baths, proactive ear care, and some ongoing allergy treatment. He’s neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. If you want a loyal, loving companion who knows his basics and wants a gentle touch, Roy might be the one. Lets make it official, apply to adopt!
