About Baxter
Baxter, at 7 years old and 90 lbs, is the kind of dog you never really forget. He spent most of his life in a stable home, but everything changed when his owner had to move. Surrendered through no fault of his own, Baxter lost his familiar world overnight. Even after this upheaval, he stays gentle and affectionate, winning people over with his kindness. He’s easy to love—a relaxed car rider, polite in the house (never jumps, fully potty trained), and endlessly fond of cuddles. Once he’s had his daily walk or backyard ball session, he transforms into a true couch potato, perfectly content to nap beside you. Baxter’s especially good with children and greets people of all ages with his trademark sweet demeanor. He does well with calm dogs and may do fine with cats after a patient introduction. Baxter has all the classic “old soul” charm. His floppy ears and soulful eyes follow you everywhere. If you’re after a companion who gives more than he asks and simply wants a soft place to land, Baxter is your guy.
