About Mac

Mac is a beautiful Brown Mackerel Tabby. He has beautiful oyster markings on his sides. He's sweet & loves his belly rubbed. He is shy at first, but very friendly once he knows you. He loves to follow me around, and likes to be close to me and my husband most of the day. Mac is healthy. We had him tested for FeLv / FIV, and the result was Negative. He's up to date on Rabies vaccine, but is due for a distemper booster. Mac had a really rough start to life. He was born on an old farm property and was starving because he was a just a little kitten and struggling to get even a bite of food or water when there were so many other adult cats on the farm. He had a severe upper respiratory infection, eye infections, and diarrhea. He came up to my foot when I went there to donate food to the starving cats, and sat on top of my foot. I picked him up and fell in love. We took him to the vet many times to get him healthy. Now he's big and healthy, loving and playful. The reason we are putting him up for adoption is we unexpectedly took in many other rescue cats to prevent them from being euthanized, plus we have our own cats and some special needs cats. He is not getting along with some of them. He's not mean, but he gets a little jealous and sometimes will start a conflict because he thinks he's playing but plays a little rough, but never actually starts a fight. I do think he only does that because of too many cats in our home, and our Vet thinks the same. I think he would do much better in a one-on-one home or maybe a home with 1 or 2 cats. It breaks our hearts to let him go, but we love him enough to try to find him a forever home where he'll be more relaxed and happy. I think he will thrive as an only cat or in a 1 or 2 cat home because he's fine here if he's in a room by himself. So If you adopt him and there is any problem we would take him back. We would never want him to be euthanized or put in an animal shelter. He is definitely an indoor cat only. He loves to sit in the window to watch birds and bugs outside, but cannot go out side because we're afraid he will run away since he was born outside on farm. We just feel he deserves a great special home with more one-on-one attention. He's a fun cat and he has a good heart. I always tell him he's my goofy boy. He deserves another chance at a loving forever home with less cats. If you adopt a cat from me you will get a file with all vet records and paperwork since the day we got him . I will also be able to give you many pictures from when he was a baby up so you can make your own album . We have an Adoption Contract we will e-mail you if you are interested in adopting Mac. Text or call me, Deborah, if interested at 301-471-0303, or e-mail me. dkhissey@aol.com. I respond quicker to text, so text is better to start , then e- mail. Thanks, Deborah
