About Boss
They are ready to love you; are you ready to apply? Boss may remind you of the story from "The One and Only Ivan": confined for years in a cage, his world small and silent—until the day he was finally given a second chance. Boss, "The One and Only," spent much of his early life closed off in a garage, where the outdoors, soft couches, and the warmth of genuine affection were mysteries. In 2023, everything changed when Lucci's House rescued him, opening not just his kennel but his spirit to a world he never knew existed. Initially, Boss was understandably apprehensive about this new reality. Each step from crate to carpet, every moment basking in fresh air or chasing toys, was uncharted and uncertain. Yet, Boss’s quiet courage led him forward. These days, you’ll often spot him stretched on a cozy couch or savoring the feel of grass beneath his paws while absorbing the sounds and scents of life outside. He delights in exploring the yard and studying his surroundings with thoughtful contentment, slowly realizing how beautiful life can be. At six years old, with about 60 pounds of gentle strength and an ever-growing heart, Boss has come an incredible distance with the help of his loving foster family. While he’s made tremendous progress, his past means he remains uncertain around other dogs and isn’t comfortable with cats or young children—but he is learning and is open to growth with a patient, understanding companion. Boss deserves an adopter who sees and honors the journey he has taken, provides gentle encouragement, and will relish every milestone along the way. Boss is far more than a rescue—he’s a survivor and a treasure waiting for someone to write the next chapter of his story. Lets make it official, apply to adopt!
