About Scooby
Scooby had a rough start—he was left to fend for himself as a puppy in a hoarding situation, fighting for bits of food and a safe place to rest. Since landing in foster care, Scooby has started to understand that people can be kind. He’s sweet, loyal, and quick to snuggle once he trusts you. Cuddles are his favorite, and he’s never happier than when curled up beside his person. Scooby has a nice balance of energy: he’ll dash around with zoomies, play awhile, then happily flop down for a nap. He gets nervous around new people, so patience is key, but he’s making progress every day. Scooby does best with slow, careful introductions to new dogs—he isn’t a dog-park type, but he’ll relax and play with friends he trusts. He’s not a good fit for homes with cats. With kids, he responds well to older children who are respectful of his space and pace. On the training front, he already knows sit, shake, come, and has fantastic recall; he’s house-trained and does fine in a crate. He’s still learning leash skills, especially around other dogs, but he tries hard for praise and treats. Scooby needs a calm, steady home where someone will let him warm up on his terms.
