About Joker

Your new best friend is just one click away. Joker is the dream companion for all Great Dane enthusiasts! This striking, harlequin hunk has just joined the rescue and is recovering well after his neuter, gastropexy, and the removal of a skin tag. While he is looking to add a few more pounds to his impressive frame, his love for snacks makes that an easy next step! If you miss being a leaning post for a loving giant or want a cuddle bug who firmly believes he’s only ten pounds, Joker is your guy. He's full of affectionate antics, from waiting at your feet for a treat to adoringly following you around the kitchen (watch out for a little slobber as he gazes up!). Joker is strong and still learning leash manners and some house etiquette—like that counter surfing isn’t as charming as he thinks—but his house training is already going wonderfully, and he’s always ready to work for food rewards. He dazzles with his tricks like sit, shake, and trading paws, but he’s definitely motivated by treats. Joker loves riding in the car and will happily perch with his head on your shoulder as you drive. Being a Great Dane, he’s gloriously big, and his joyful tail might give your legs a gentle whack when he’s happy! If you know and adore the breed, you will find Joker to be 150% wonderful. Make their next chapter their best one yet.

Questions about Joker

  • What type of living environment is this breed usually best suited for?

The Great Dane is best suited for homes with plenty of space, ideally a house with a yard. While they can adapt to apartment life if exercised properly, their large size makes extra room preferable.

  • How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?

Great Danes benefit from regular outdoor time and space to stretch their legs, though they are not as high energy as some other large breeds. A securely fenced yard is ideal for short play sessions and relaxation.

  • Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?

Great Danes are generally gentle giants and often do well in homes with children, especially when raised with them. Supervision is important due to their size, particularly around small children.
