About Rookie
Rookie landed at the rescue after being found wandering a busy street, with no one stepping forward to claim him despite efforts to track down an owner. Given his history, it's likely he was abandoned by someone unable or unwilling to care for him. Since then, Rookie has earned a soft spot with the volunteers for his loving natureāheās the type to follow you from room to room, intent on being near his person. He quickly made himself at home, relishing attention and the run of the building. A foster period over the holidays revealed that Rookie does best as an only pet and becomes protective of his person, especially with other animals around. He can be a lap-warmer and a loyal little shadow but has shown clear discomfort around cats, men, and children. His ideal home is with a woman who lives alone, without other pets or frequent male or child visitors. Rookie isnāt fully house trained yet and relies on a belly band for mishaps, but heās neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. The rescue limits adoptions to within a 50-mile radius and asks that adopters be 21 or older. Rookie is a Capricornāsteady, loyal, and ready for a stable companion. Give this dedicated little guy a place where he can truly relax and be your loyal guardian. Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now!
