Schatzi is a 4-year-old, 71 lb German Shepherd who thrives on outdoor adventures but is just as content relaxing by your side. He’s house trained, kennel trained, and walks well on leash. Schatzi is sharp at basic commands and knows his way around fetch and campfire cuddles. He's happiest when included as an active companion, whether it’s hiking the woods or exploring new trails. He gets along well with other polite dogs of any size but isn’t a match for homes with cats. Schatzi does especially well with kids about 10 and up, as younger children can be too much for his dignified, steady temperament. He’s looking for someone in a stable period of life who is ready for that loyal, lifelong German Shepherd bond. While he will fit in either a house with a fenced yard or a spacious apartment with plenty of walking options, he should never be left outdoors-only, and no invisible fences. Schatzi’s new family needs to keep his social skills sharp and ideally have some experience with German Shepherds.
