About Gander

Meet Gander, a charming white and tan mixed-breed terrier who is looking for a loving and stable home to call his own. Gander started as a holiday gift but soon found himself unwanted and confined to a crate in a garage. Fortunately, he reached the Humane Society of York County where he began to thrive. Born in January 2021, this medium-size boy weighs about 45 pounds and has so much potential. Despite facing challenges, Gander has made incredible progress with positive-reinforcement training. He has learned essential commands like sit, down, and wait, and is improving his loose-leash walking skills. He enjoys life outside the shelter, having shown that he flourishes in a home environment. Gander plays well with other dogs, loves toys, and enjoys hikes—especially by the river. Affectionate and loving, he craves cuddles from his human friends. Gander is great with children and is ready for a forever home where he can continue his training and build the stability he deserves. If you think you can provide the love and care he needs, reach out to the Humane Society of York County to schedule a meet-and-greet. Ready to fall in love? Hit apply and let's get started.
