About Rosario Purrmanent Resident
Rosario and her son Rhys arrived at the rescue after being cared for by a compassionate former adopter who couldn’t keep them long-term. Both were spayed and neutered, brought indoors, and kept safe. At first, it seemed like they’d be easy to settle in, but it quickly became clear that Rosario and Rhys were terrified of people and not the cuddly, outgoing types some expect from rescue cats. These two needed time—and that’s what they received: steady patience and quiet reassurance. Nearly two years later, big breakthroughs never came, but incremental gains did. Rosario has relaxed a bit; she’ll sometimes allow a gentle pet and can be handled for necessities. Rhys, much shyer, relies deeply on his mother, always following her lead and finding confidence only in her presence. You’ll spot Rosario calmly watching over her son in the Clubhouse, setting an example for peaceful coexistence among cats. Despite their progress, Rosario and Rhys remain semi-feral. Their bond runs deep, their personalities are subtle, and their needs are modest—safety, stability, and respect. Both are well cared-for and content as Purrmanent Residents at the rescue; adoption is not their path, and that’s fine. Some cats need a safe place more than a new home. By the way, Rosario was born in May, which makes her a practical, reliable Taurus—a fitting match for her steady and observant nature. Every animal deserves a happy ending. This one starts with you.
