About Penny
Pick me pick me! Penny knows exactly how to grab your attention with his goofy ways and lovable personality. Brought to the shelter due to a change in his family's circumstances, Penny’s adjustment was difficult at first, but his real character blossomed when he landed in a foster home. It’s clear this boy was cherished—he’s social, loves making new friends (dog or human), and quickly learned the doggy door, taking full advantage of a large fenced yard for play and exploration. Toys are a big favorite for Penny, though they have a short life span with him around. He’s an active, playful dog who’s just as happy to crash for a nap. Penny gets along famously with his canine foster siblings and is living with children, though his playful style is better suited for older kids. Training comes naturally to him—he knows sit, down, shake, hi-five, and speak—and he’s crate-trained, sleeping soundly through the night. His main challenge is potty training, especially with new places where marking is tempting… but with structure and supervision, he’s staying accident-free in his foster home. Penny isn’t a fan of car rides, so he prefers adventures closer to home. If you can look past these quirks, you’ll find an affectionate, loyal companion ready to make your life brighter.
