About Winston

Winston is a calm, sweet, and deeply loving 1 year old boy who forms strong bonds with his people and truly wants nothing more than to be close to his family. He is the kind of dog who wants to be wherever you are—on the couch, on the bed, or curled up nearby just soaking in your presence. He’s incredibly affectionate, gentle, and thrives on connection and snuggles. At home, Winston is a wonderful mix of goofy and relaxed. He’s known for sleeping on his back with his legs in the air, happily accepting belly rubs, and melting into your touch. He adores soft beds and couches and is perfectly content lounging for hours, but he also has a playful, energetic side. Winston enjoys walks, hikes, and getting out to explore, and he can be excited and bouncy when it’s time for fun—then happily settle right back into calm, snuggly mode afterward. Winston loves the simple joys in life: quality time with his people, fresh air, good walks, and his favorite treats (ice cubes are a special favorite!). He is very people-oriented, loyal, and eager to please, making him a wonderful companion for someone looking for a dog who truly wants to be part of their daily life. Winston does best with female dogs and can have issues with some male dogs, particularly larger males (though not all male dogs). He has shown that he can be friendly with other dogs in neutral settings like walks, parks, or outings, and he is social and well-mannered with strangers in public. Winston has a sensitive tummy and does best on a specific, consistent diet. This is currently very well managed with his prescribed food. He cannot have traditional dog treats, as they may cause a gastrointestinal flare-up, but he happily enjoys fresh fruits and vegetables as treats. With consistency and mindful feeding, his GI sensitivity remains well under control. Winston would thrive in a home that values closeness, affection, and calm companionship, with room for both relaxed days and active adventures. He will do best as the only dog or with a compatible female dog, and with adopters who appreciate a loving, loyal shadow who wants to be part of everything.
