About Rooney

Meet Rooney. This handsome black-and-white senior is a 9-10-year-old Border Collie mix who came to us from local animal control. While he hasn’t had the easiest life, he has a gentle heart and a true love for adventure. Rooney is a special-needs boy. He has cataracts and is going blind, currently with about 50% vision. We want him to experience the world around him, so we’re looking for a loving home that will provide him with a safe, comfortable, and cherished environment for the rest of his life. This sweet, loyal guy enjoys exploring and would make a wonderful walking partner. He thrives on routine, reassurance, and quiet companionship. Due to his limited vision and past experiences, Rooney needs to be the only pet in the home—he does not get along with cats or other dogs, and he is not suitable for households with children. Despite the challenges he has faced, this old soul has so much love left to give. He deserves a calm, patient adopter who can help him navigate his world with kindness and stability.
