Captain Crunch is a large, black and white Domestic Short Hair in Fitchburg, MA. He’s a neutered adult male at 4 years and 2 months old, with a short coat and up-to-date vaccinations. Captain Crunch is house trained and living with FIV, so he’ll need a special home familiar with feline quirks and medical backgrounds. His personality is big and bold, just like his 16 lbs frame.

About Captain Crunch Special Needs:

Captain Crunch is a big tuxedo cat—a quirky, bold character who started his journey as a tough feral and has been learning the ups and downs of home life ever since. After a rocky beginning, including a stint in quarantine when he first came in, he moved to foster care with Fitchburg Friends of Felines and has slowly revealed his softer, more affectionate side. He’s quirky: a hulking 16-pounder with a ridiculous little squeak, and he’ll head-bob for pets in a way that’s almost theatrical. Captain Crunch follows his foster mom everywhere and is utterly motivated by treats, though he’s picky about food. He enjoys hanging out, playing a little rough, and prefers the company of dominant cats or possibly a sturdy, big dog over gentle or shy companions. Prozac has mellowed his old happy-aggression, and he takes his daily meds with no trouble. While he can now entertain himself and occasionally likes to sit on a lap, he’s still a work in progress—social, affectionate, and sometimes too much for a typical house cat. Children aren't a good fit for him, but a cat-savvy adult or empty nester with another spirited animal could be exactly right. Captain Crunch will thrive with someone patient who reads feline signals, appreciates a project, and loves a cat with personality. If you meet his requirements, you’ll end up with a loyal, hilarious companion. Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now!
