Christoph can be sensitive to handling and will need an adult-only home. -Can Live with Cats: Unknown history, but likely not a good idea. We are recommending no cats at this time. -Can Live with Dogs: No thanks! Christoph is not a fan of other dogs and will need to be an "only child". -Can do Apartment Living: No, Christoph is best suited for life in a rural setting. His ideal home is out in the county on some property, or better yet with a fenced yard! -Potty Trained: Yes -Bite History: No -Positive Reward Based Obedience Classes Required: May be required to attend one private lesson depending on adopter experience. -Energy Level: Medium -Needs Medical Procedure Before Going Home: Yes, a neuter -Additional Information: Christoph came to WHS as a stray found running around out in the county. As mentioned above, Christoph is a "country dog" looking for a specific sort of lifestyle. His perfect match is a single person or couple who have dog experience and live on some property. There will ideally be no other dogs around as Christoph can be kind of a bully, especially to other males. Christoph's perfect day goes a little something like this: He wakes up in his super comfy dog bed by the fireplace and immediately has some breakfast (he LOVES breakfast). He gets some attention from his person (ear and chin scritches, please) before being let out to roam around the yard and do his business. Then he follows you around the property for a while assisting you with your daily chores. Next it's time to lay on the porch and watch the world go by, followed by dinner and a nice cuddle session. There are also a few naps sprinkled in there somewhere - the boy loves to sleep almost as much as he loves to eat. As mentioned previously, Christoph can be a little sensitive in stressful situations. He will need a DOG-EXPERIENCED adopter who is able to read his body language and respect his boundaries. Dogs, much like people, all have their quirks and we want to make sure Christoph goes to a home with someone who understands and respects him.
