About Sammy
Sammy is a purebred British Labrador Retriever, born in late June and now searching for her own forever family. She and her sister were both diagnosed as young pups with megaesophagus, a condition that makes it difficult for them to keep food and water down. Thanks to early intervention, Sammy is fully trained to eat her meals in a special upright chair and does so three times a day, always excited for meal time. Her diet includes soaked kibble and unflavored gelatin cubes for hydration, since she can't drink water the usual way or have typical dog treats—melty toddler puffs work as safe snacks for her. Despite these dietary needs, Sammy is a happy, playful pup who delights in walks, playing in the yard, toys, and cuddle sessions. Swimming isn’t safe for her due to the risk of aspirating water, but her life is otherwise vibrant and joyful. Sammy is spayed and up to date on vaccinations, house trained, and gets along well with children, dogs, and cats. The rescue is seeking an adopter willing to keep her as a solo pup, as they will not place her with her sister. Sammy’s adoption fee is sponsored for the right committed home. Every animal deserves a happy ending. This one starts with you.
