About Gomer
Gomer was picked up by animal control just before Christmas Eve 2024, thin but eager for attention. He greeted everyone with hope from his kennel, always looking for a friendly face. When he arrived at the rescue, he was dealing with multiple health issues—intestinal parasites, several masses, bad teeth, and heartworm. Most of these have been addressed, and his dental is scheduled for February 2026. Early on, Gomer kept his distance, but it didn’t take him long to realize he’d landed somewhere safe. Now, he enjoys quiet time by the fire, hanging out with his buddy Gus, and exploring the yard. He’s notorious for being an escape artist, able to open latches and even climb chain-link fences, so he’ll need a 6-foot privacy fence and a family who’s vigilant about his safety. Gomer knows basic cues and is house trained. He gets along well with other dogs and does fine with children. Gomer’s perfect home is with people who will include him in everyday life—sniffy walks, lounging together, and sharing simple routines. Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now!
