About Joshua
Meet Joshua. His cloud-white short fur and striking blue eyes draw attention, but it’s the journey behind those eyes that matters. Joshua, just 6 months old, faced the stress of being returned to a high-volume shelter three times and was nearly euthanized after being labeled "hyper." In truth, Joshua is deaf—he simply needed someone willing to meet him where he is. Since entering foster care, he’s bloomed. He’s mastered "sit," enjoys relaxing quietly in his crate, and brings a gentle, sweet nature into the home. Joshua gets along wonderfully with other dogs and is a gentle friend to young children—he’s spent time alongside a 3-year-old. This eager learner comes with his own specialized training collar, which has played a big part in his progress and understanding. To support a smooth transition, adopters in Auglaize or Mercer County will also get a free training session with a seasoned deaf-dog specialist. Joshua’s webbed feet hint at Labrador ancestry. Fully vaccinated and ready to write a new chapter, he needs someone willing to embrace his way of experiencing the world. Their search for the right fit could end with you. Your new best friend is just one click away.
