Sully has been with us since he was just a tiny pup. Now 11 months old, Sully is handsome, sweet, silly, and so preciously adorable! His dad is a hound/staffy mix and his mom is an Australian shepherd mix. Sully is a Velcro pup through and through—where you go, he wants to follow. He’s “all boy” in the best way: always ready to play, chase, and tumble around, but equally thrilled to snuggle up and melt into your lap. He grunts with happiness when you scratch along his back and is a total mama’s boy in his foster home. He’d be over the moon to have a kiddo to call his best friend and playmate! He gets along with other dogs and can live with cats who can put up with his sometimes rambunctious puppy energy. Sadly, Sully has epilepsy, so he’ll need a home equipped to handle that. We’re not sure of the cause, but his two brothers also have epilepsy, so we suspect it’s genetic. We know that makes him a harder sell, but it also makes his need urgent—Sully deserves a chance at the love and stability that every dog should have. Without a committed adopter or rescue placement, we may have to make some very hard choices, and our hearts ache even thinking about it. Sully is on daily meds, and with his most recent change in meds, he has been seizure-free so far. He may not win awards for academic achievement (let’s just say he’s more heart than head), but what Sully lacks in book smarts, he more than makes up for in charm, loyalty, and affection. All he needs is someone patient and loving to help him grow into the amazing dog he’s meant to be. For out of town adopters, we offer virtual meet-and-greets and can arrange transport to many states in the Northeast. (The $300 adoption fee includes transport to the city on this listing. Our transports run every 2-3 weeks to that location.) We cannot adopt to Rhode Island due to import restrictions. VETTING: All of our dogs are cleared by a licensed veterinarian for transport and arrive to their adopters spayed/neutered with age-appropriate vaccines completed and are microchipped.
