About Lokai
What are you waiting for? Apply today! Meet Lokai, a resilient 2-year-old husky mix searching for his truly forever home. After returning to rescue through no fault of his own, Lokai is bravely hoping for a loving family that won’t give up on him. Despite life’s challenges, his heart remains big and open—housebroken, intelligent, and eager to be close to his person, he truly thrives as a snuggly, loyal companion. Lokai enjoys spending time with a foster brother, wrestling and zooming around the yard, and is wonderful with older kids and teenagers. Sociable and playful, he’s always excited to greet new guests and meet dogs on walks, though he’s strong and sometimes pulls with enthusiasm. Fortunately, Lokai responds well to correction and learns new commands quickly—he knows Sit, Paw, Down, and is practicing Wait, even ringing a bell to go outside. Fetch, sticks, belly rubs, yard time, and car rides are all favorite pastimes, and his gentle manners shine when taking treats, especially if you remind him to be “gentle.” He sleeps and eats in his crate, entering happily at night with a favorite treat. During the day, he feels safest with music and a person nearby. Lokai requests no harnesses, as having anything lifted over his head is frightening, but he loves head scratches and has a special fondness for men, though he warms up to everyone with kindness. Neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped, this loyal husky mix is ready to start a new chapter with someone who will treasure his affection and friendship. They are ready to love you; are you ready to apply?
