Meet CJ - a sweet, sensitive, and fun-loving boy who's ready to bring joy, adventure, and plenty of cuddles into your life! Crate and housetrained, CJ is looking for an active, patient family who will continue helping him build confidence while including him in daily life. CJ's favorite activities include zooming around the house playing chase with his stuffies, happily gnawing on chew toys, and keeping a quiet watch on neighborhood happenings from the front door. He will also try his best to squeeze into your lap while you're working from home, just in case you forgot to take a cuddle break. When it comes to meeting new people, CJ is a joyful greeter who sometimes struggles to contain his excitement - polite hellos are a work in progress! Thankfully he is very food motivated and is gentle taking treats, which has been very helpful with training. To help him relax and enjoy his day more comfortably, CJ takes a daily anxiety medication as part of his morning routine. CJ is always up for an adventure. He's an excellent car companion and even tagged along on a family vacation to Maine, where he snoozed peacefully in his crate for most of the drive. He would love a home that enjoys walks, hikes, and splashing around in the Eno River. A yard to run, sniff, and explore would be a dream come true for this curious boy. CJ doesn't have much experience with other dogs and can be a little overeager when he sees them on walks-slow intros and dogs who enjoy a rowdy play style would probably be best. At home, CJ's playful personality shines. He occasionally likes to "borrow" soft items like stuffies, shoes, or clothing within reach; due to snagging toys and his size/ability to bowl little ones over, he'd do best in a household with adults or kids ages 8 and up. As the day winds down, CJ transforms into a total cuddle bug. His favorite place is curled up next to you on the couch, head resting in your lap, fast asleep. At bedtime, he settles easily and sleeps quietly through the night in his crate.
