About Mazi

Mazikeen, or Mazi for short, has come a long way from her rough start in life, spent mostly on a chain and underfed. Once just 46 lbs and malnourished, she now thrives at a healthy 80 lbs in her foster home. Thought to be a Great Pyrenees/Lab mix, Mazi is outgoing, playful, and quick to bond with people, other dogs, and even cats. She’s eager to please, easy to train, and knows several basic commands. Potty trained and trustworthy in the house when left alone, Mazi lets you know when someone is at the door—she’s an alert barker, but redirects easily and settles with a cue. Resource guarding food is something she still manages around other dogs, understandable given her past, but she’s food motivated and responds to training well. She plays with toys, loves car rides, and especially enjoys her time outdoors, often accompanied by her German Shepherd buddy, Jake. Leash walks are a favorite, though she still pulls at times. Mazi is current on vaccines, preventatives, and is microchipped; she’ll be spayed prior to adoption. A secure visible fence, home visit, and strong vet reference are required for her adoption. She’s fostered in Bourbon, MO, and can be adopted out to Missouri and several neighboring states with transport help. Mazi was born August 16, making her a proud Leo—no surprise she has a big, affectionate presence wherever she goes. Your new best friend is just one click away.
