Meet Cannon DOB: ~ August 19, 2024 | Intake: July 22, 2024 | Returned: December 1, 2025 Cannon had an extremely rough start, and he was aptly named for the size, volume, and velocity of the snot rockets he shot out of his nostrils—well, like a cannon 😊. His rescuer spent nearly $1,500 on his care, and he has come a long way since then. Cannon has chronic rhinitis due to his history, along with perforated eardrums, making him partially deaf—he responds mostly to vibrations rather than sounds. He takes a daily lysine supplement, and long-term medical care for his condition is available at no charge through Dr. Jen at Feline Wellness Center. In his former home, Cannon was a phenomenal cat about 90% of the time. He did face some challenges after an accidental outdoor adventure that left him skittish and temporarily aggressive with a former cat companion. Despite that, he has always been affectionate with people, including young children, though he sometimes forgets to keep his claws to himself (never maliciously). He’s also friendly with dogs, as proven when he stayed with his adopter’s sister’s dog for a few days. Cannon can be a little tricky when it comes to nail trims or medications—he doesn’t like to be held down, and he’s got plenty of other things to do! His energy and curiosity make him best suited for a home with active kids or other playful cats who can keep up with his high-energy lifestyle. He is playful, curious, and always on the move—he loves running, chasing toys, and interacting with other busy cats. Since his return to us, Cannon has shown us how nicely he plays with others and enjoys their company. That redirected aggression has dissipated, and our Cannon is now a fun, spirited, and loving boy who is ready to find a home that matches his playful personality.
