About Thunder
Thunder is a playful, spirited young German Shepherd mix who still thinks he's a lap dog, even as heās grown into a medium-sized companion. Heās spent most of his life at the shelterāfirst as a puppy, then out on an adoption that didnāt work out. Thunder wasnāt given guidance on how to play gently with young kids and, not realizing his own size, got returned when some roughhousing got out of hand. None of this was his fault. Coming back to the shelter has left him stressed, but thereās still sweetness under it all. Thunder is smart and very food-motivated. His previous adopters had good things to say about him: heās house trained, crate trained, and walks nicely on a leash. He usually does well with other dogs and can be shy when meeting someone new, but give him a little time and he warms up. Once Thunder feels safe, heās all love. Give him the second chance he deserves. They are waiting with paws crossed! Apply now!

Questions about Thunder
What type of living environment is this breed usually best suited for?
Thunder, as a German Shepherd mix, tends to thrive in an active home that can provide him with plenty of engagement and exercise. He'll do best in a household that values time outdoors and mental stimulation.
How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?
Thunder's breed mix appreciates regular outdoor activity. A home with a securely fenced yard or access to safe walking areas will help him burn off energy and stay content.
Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?
German Shepherd mixes like Thunder can do well with older children, especially if they've had training in how to interact gently. Since Thunder needs to learn how to play safely with younger children, supervision and additional guidance are important.
