About Mindy

Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now! Mindy is a resilient black Domestic Short Hair cat who overcame a difficult start, arriving at the rescue with severely crusted eyes and in dire condition. With dedicated medical attention, her eyes healed enough to reveal a significant visual impairment caused by cataracts and a congenital retina defect. Sadly, surgery was not an option, and Mindy is expected to lose her sight completely over time. She now requires daily eye drops, a routine that’s essential for her comfort and quality of life. Because she isn’t fond of this task, Mindy needs an experienced cat parent who can gently manage her daily care with patience and understanding. Sweet and affectionate, Mindy enjoys lap time with her foster mom and loves to be adored. She's been fostered alongside cats, kittens, and a small dog and generally gets along well with her companions. However, due to her limited vision, Mindy can be easily startled and may react grumpily if surprised. A gentle, understanding environment will help her thrive. Did you know that with her birthday on May 22, Mindy is a Gemini? Geminis are known for their playful and social spirits, making Mindy a delightful and engaging companion even as she adapts to her visual challenges. They are waiting with paws crossed! Apply now!
