About Blackie
Blackie has beat the odds. As a puppy, he survived parvo when nearly his whole litter did not. After traveling from California to Colorado, this big-hearted Australian Cattle Dog/Staffordshire mix is now soaking up Florida sunshine with his foster, but he's currently located in Arvada, CO and ready for adoption. Blackie weighs in at a solid 60 lbs, and those pounds are mostly affection—he's all about hugs and draping himself across anyone willing to let him. Around the house, he's mellow and loving, but take him outside and he gears up quick, ready to jog beside a bike for an hour or tackle a long hike. Blackie loves playing with his foster siblings and gets along with other dogs, though introductions work best if slow. He's gotten better on leash, but ongoing training helps with his excitement around barking dogs on walks. While his heart belongs to people, he shows real friendliness to everyone. If you're looking for a companion who's resilient, sweet, and always up for an adventure, Blackie just might fit the bill. Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now!
