About Benji

Make their next chapter their best one yet. Benji’s story began when his previous owner was no longer able to care for him, and he’s been waiting for a new home since April 2025. Even though Benji is a wonderful small dog, he’s looking for just the right match. At 4 1/2 years old and about 24 pounds, Benji is the perfect companion for someone who appreciates a dog with a bit of independence. He’ll need a little time to get comfortable with new people and prefers not to be picked up or crowded when he’s not in the mood. Meet and greets are required since he is dog selective, and a home without small children is best. Benji has a medium energy level, enjoys car rides, long walks, and toys, and absolutely loves a good back scratch. He’s fully house trained and pretty self-sufficient. Benji has completed heartworm treatment and is neutered, up to date on vaccines, and microchipped. The rescue team is committed to thoughtful adoptions—your application will be matched to ensure it’s the perfect fit for Benji, not just first come, first served. Applicants must be at least 21 years old, and photos of your home may be requested to make sure Benji will be comfortable and safe. They are ready to love you; are you ready to apply?
