If you are looking for a sweet, soulful companion in a perfectly portable size, Diego is your guy. With his stunning tri-color coat and expressive eyes, Diego is beautiful inside and out. Despite a rough past, he has remained incredibly resilient and affectionate; his signature move is resting his paws on your chair and bowing his head to ask for ear scratches. He is a devoted shadow who wants nothing more than to be included in every family snuggle, curl up at your feet while you read, or supervise your cooking (just in case a scrap falls on the floor!). Thought to be around 8 yrs old, Diego is the definition of a polite house guest. He is 100% house-trained, signals when he needs to go out, and is so well-behaved that he doesn’t require a crate when left home alone. He is also fantastic on a leash, unbothered by snow or cold, and already knows commands like "sit," "stay," and "down." Being very food-motivated and attentive makes him easy to train. While he is generally quiet and easygoing, he does have a playful, curious side, especially when outdoor smells catch his attention. Diego is looking for a home where he can be loved like he deserves. He would do best in a home without cats and with adults or older children. While he is open to meeting other dogs, he is currently neutral toward them and focuses mostly on his humans.
