About Apollo
Apollo is a large, mixed-breed Labrador Retriever and American Bulldog who has made quite the impression since landing at the rescue in Tarrytown, GA. Originally found undernourished and wandering as a stray, he rebounded quickly with a foster and brought happiness to everyone he met—a fitting reason for his name, taken from the mythical god known for spreading light and joy. Apollo is especially friendly and attentive, with a calm, uplifting personality that seems tailor-made for family life. He’s shown he knows basic commands, hinting that he’s spent time as someone’s companion before. Apollo gets along well with people of all ages and other dogs, making him a solid fit for a home that already has pets or young children. While he has demonstrated some house training, his adopter should be ready to continue his training to help him fully adjust. Apollo is neutered and his vaccinations are up to date. He did test light positive for heartworm at first, but after a slow-kill treatment, he has tested negative and is back in good health. He’s available for adoption in Georgia as well as New Jersey and nearby areas, but you’ll need to meet him in person to bring him home. They are waiting with paws crossed! Apply now!
