Southpaw is a goofy, loyal American Bully mix and a true Velcro dog who always offers his left paw for a shake. Still young and full of energy, he’s nuts for tennis balls, tug of war, and curling up for a cuddle session. Southpaw follows his people everywhere, and while he handles daytime crating, he’d really thrive with more space and someone around most of the day. He can be anxious when meeting new people or in unfamiliar settings, but give him a little time and patience, and you’ll have a devoted shadow. Southpaw has a quirky side, making funny mooing sounds when he’s hungry or needs to go out—his family jokes he might be part bunny, part seal, and part cow. He knows his basic commands, is house trained, and is very food-motivated, which makes training easier (as long as you keep an eye on what he’s eating). Southpaw barks loudly when startled, trying to keep his family safe, but it’s all heart—literally, as he sports a heart-shaped mark on his back. He doesn’t get along well with most cats or dogs, so a home where he’s the only pet, or with a carefully introduced canine friend, would be best.
